UAE’s ‘1 Million School Shoes’ campaign in South Africa

The UAE Embassy in Pretoria has provided support to the ‘1 Million School Shoes’ campaign, which targets disadvantaged pupils in schools across Limpopo, a northernmost province of South Africa.

While meeting Onicca Moloi, the campaign director, Fatima Al Suwaidi, First Secretary at the Embassy, said such humanitarian initiatives echo the vision of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the significant efforts he used to make to provide support to all peoples across the world.

Moloi expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership and people for the noble gesture, which, she said, reflects the country’s determination to reach out to largest segments of world society.

The campaign comes as part of commemorating the anniversary of the passing of former president Nelson Mandela.
