UAE attends Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition

A delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, led by Major General Pilot Isaac Saleh Mohammed Al Baloushi, Head of the Executive Administration for Industries and Defence Capacities Development at the Ministry of Defence, attended the launch of the 15th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition, LIMA 2019, taking place in Langkawi, Malaysia, and was inaugurated by the country’s Prime Minister, Mahathir bin Mohammed.

Al Baloushi and the Emirati delegation toured the exhibition, which included the pavilions of several countries and regional and international companies that specialise in aerial and maritime defence industries.

He also met with Liu Xin Tang, Deputy Minister of Defence of Malaysia, and First Lt. Tan Seri Dato, Commander of the Malaysian Royal Air Force, to discuss their developing defence cooperation.

The parties discussed issues of mutual concern, and the delegation conveyed the greetings of the Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces to the Malaysian officials.

Al Baloushi and the UAE delegation also attended an official reception that was held on the sidelines of the exhibition, under the patronage of Mahathir bin Mohammed and the ministers of defence and transport, where they met with several participating delegations and discussed their joint cooperation.
