Pentagon looking into options over Turkey-Russia missile cooperation

The Pentagon said on Friday that senior defense officials would hold a press briefing on the Pentagon’s response to Turkey accepting delivery of an advanced Russian missile defense system.

The Pentagon said Ellen Lord, the under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment and David Trachtenberg, the deputy under secretary of defense for policy, would hold a press briefing.

Russia began delivery of an advanced missile defense system to Turkey on Friday, a move expected to trigger U.S. sanctions against a NATO ally and drive a wedge into the heart of the Western military alliance.
