By Jasmin Rasheed -- The Levant News -- Palestinian sources revealed that President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas and a high-ranking delegation will visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the coming days. The Palestinian delegation is to include figures such as Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, PA spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina, Fatah Central Committee member Sa'eb Arikat, and intelligence chief Majed Faraj.
The delegation will meet with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Ahmad Al-Thani. The Palestinian representatives will also speak with King Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al Saud in Saudi Arabia, mere days after a Hamas delegation headed by Khaled Meshaal visited the kingdom. Abu Mazen is to demand clarifications concerning the relations between Saudi Arabia and Hamas, which are growing dangerously close after three years of no contact.
According to our sources, other Middle Eastern issues to be discussed at the meetings in Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the Islamic State and the implications of the nuclear deal with Iran. The meetings will also touch upon provision of additional financial aid to the PA due to its problems and Mohammed Dahlan's subversive activity against Abu Mazen with the support of the Gulf States.
