The Abu Dhabi Municipality attained new achievement this year when its Building Data Management System, BDMS, was recognised among the global top five systems in the ‘International Best Practice Competition’ at the Global Organisational Excellence Congress.
The congress, held in Abu Dhabi from 10th to 12th December, saw the participation of 250 regional and international organisational excellence and quality experts from 35 countries, with the attendance of 700 people working in the areas of excellence, innovation and sustainability.
Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Municipality, expressed his pride at the achievement while stressing that it is due to the wise directives of the Abu Dhabi Government and the efforts of the municipality to improve services and performance.
He said that the system is one of the most advanced systems, streamlining building data delivery processes and extracting indoor details, serving customers and individuals working in construction and building management, as well as the municipality’s strategic partners.
He added that the system features a database that includes the internal details and floor information of small and large buildings, both under design and completed.
The system was selected by the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities for adoption by Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, and was presented at several international events, receiving appreciation as one of the few systems in the world to apply innovation in products, services and processes.
