Yemen President vows to revenge his soldiers’ death

THE LEVANT – Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi on Monday (August 11th) vowed to track down the gunmen who killed 14 soldiers last week in Hadramaut province, the official Yemeni news agency Saba reported.

Speaking at the first meeting of the national authority for monitoring the implementation of National Dialogue Conference outputs, the president saluted the armed forces and called on them to raise their combat readiness and remain vigilant in the face of terrorism.

On August 8th, al-Qaeda gunmen ambushed the soldiers on a bus near the town of Shibam, AFP reported. The men were taken to the nearby village of Huta where they were publicly executed.

“Our battle with the forces of evil, terrorism, treachery, treason and subversion is a determined one, and grassroots efforts must come together alongside official ones so we can get rid of this scourge,” Hadi said.
