Washington casts its vote for Democratic primary

The Levant News — Hillary Clinton is all but certain to be her party’s nominee, but Washington, D.C. is still determined to hold its last-in-the-nation Democratic primary election today. Seeing an overture for a strong finish, rival Bernie Sanders came out in support of statehood for the district – and its accompanying voting rights in Congress – just days ago. The Republicans held their primary in the district in March; Florida Sen. Marco Rubio came in first in front of Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
