UAE to participate in Arab League meeting on WMD

The UAE is participating in the 53rd meeting of the Arab League’s Committee of Senior Arab Officials on Nuclear and other Weapons of Mass Destruction, WMDs, to discuss coordination among the Arab states for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s, IAEA, 63rd ordinary session slated for September, among other issues.

At the meeting, which kicked off today at the headquarters of the pan-Arab organisation, the UAE is being represented by Hamad Al Kaabi, UAE’s Permanent Representative to the IAEA.

Other items on the agenda include Israel’s nuclear capabilities and the proposed treaty to make the Middle East a region free from nuclear weapons and other WMDs.
