Syrian Forces Win Back Strategic Regions in Lattakia Province

THE LEVANT NEWS — The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) seized back more strategic areas in the Northern parts of Lattakia province on Saturday.

The Syrian forces regained control of al-Markashileh and Jab al-Ahmar regions after several days of fierce clashes with the militants in Lattakia countryside.

The army units, NDF forces and Hezbollah fighters also seized a large number of mortar shells, missiles and Saudi military uniforms from the terrorists’ military bases during the mop-up operations.

The Syrian troops have seized several villages and towns during their recent operations in Lattakia province over past days.

Also earlier today, the Syrian forces pushed back the militant groups in another region in the Northern parts of Lattakia and restored full security to al-Rahmalia and al-Khidr hills.

The Syrian forces’ operations in the Northern parts of Lattakia, near the border with Turkey, have gained much success in recent days and the Takfiri militant groups are retreating from most of their position.

The sources further added that the militant groups had suffered heavy death toll and damage on their military grid in the Syrian forces’ operations.

On Friday, the Syrian army and popular forces, with the Russian aerial back up, pushed back the militant groups from Tal Sifah and Tal al-Malouha in the Northern countryside of Lattakia province.

The Syrian forces and the Russian fighter jets stormed the militant groups in the Northern part of the coastal province of Lattakia and restored security to Tal Sifah and Tal al-Malouha after killing or wounding scores of the terrorists.
