China To Invest In Salmas Special Economic Zone

The Levant News — Managing Director of Salmas Special Economic Zone Ali Rahimi said that China has declared interest in participating in different projects in the zone, the Islamic Republic News Agency “IRNA” reported.

The source added that the director made the remarks on Friday on the sidelines of meeting with a group of Chinese investors from SMI Company and said that Chinese delegation is here to invest 500 million dollars in the fields of textile, information technology, mining machinery, car, as well as construction materials, adding that facilities will be offered to industrialists on imports, clearance from custom houses, and also customs and financial exemptions.

Deputy Governor of Salmas, Amir Teymouri, also said that there’s no problem in infrastructures in this special zone, pointing out that the Chinese investing companies will sign an MoU after negotiation and consultations with west Azarbaijan foreign investment services center and special economic zone.

It’s worth mentioning that Salmas with the population of 200,000 is located in north part of west Azarbaijan province
