The Levant News Daily Report on Syria: Dozen of Killed and Injured in Hasaka Bombs

Number of civilians were killed and scores others were injured from three suicide car bombings by ISIS rocking Hasaka city on Monday.

One of the cars has targeted a checkpoint at Khashman neighborhood resulting in the death of 10 civilians, 3 members of ISIS and injuring other dozens of people.

Another bombing was carried out at Ghoueiran quarter which is under the control of the Syrian Army, no information have been reported on the human and material losses.

The Syrian official TV reported that the twin car blasts resulted in the death of at least 26 people.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that one of the blasts targeted Kurd fighters adding that the first blast occurred a Khashman neighborhood while the second one at al-Mahatta quarter. The Syria Observatory said that the two explosions were suicide car bombs.

Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said the first blast hit a checkpoint belonging to the Kurdish security forces in Khashman, while the second struck the headquarters of a pro-regime militia in Mahata.

Control of Hasaka city -and other parts of the province by the same name -is divided between Kurdish militia and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.

From the other side, two US officials revealed on Monday that Russia has sent number of tanks to a Syrian air base near Latakia. Menawhile, the Syrian Ambassador to Moscow considered talks of Russian troop presence on the ground in Syria is “a lie”.

One of the US official stated that seven T-90 tanks arrived the airbase near Latakia.
“We have been cooperating with Russia for 30-40 years in various areas, including the military sphere. Yes, we receive arms, military equipment, all this is done in line with agreements sealed between our countries,” the Syrian Ambassador was quoted as saying by the ITAR-TASS news agency.

In the same context, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed that Russian forces are building a long runway capable of accommodating large aircraft near the Hmaymeen military airport in Latakia province.
“In recent weeks, military airplanes arrived in Hmaymeen carrying military equipment and hundreds of Russian military advisers and technicians,” the group said.

Moreover, sources reported that Russia was enlarging the Hamidieh airport in Tartous province. Also, reports said that that Russian experts are working on a study to establish a long runways in the International Airport of Damascus.
On another note, “Jaish al-Islam” announced previously by his spokesman on a video tape that a number of strategic regions and military barracks were liberated at eastern Ghouta in Damascus province.

Meanwhile, the Syria warplanes targeted positions belonging to al-Nusra Front, the branch of al-Qaeda organization in Syria, also it targeted the positions of “Ahrar al-Sham” at the eastern mountain in Zabadani. This coincided with shelling positions of militias in Madaya village.

In Aleppo, the Syrian warplane targeted positions belonging to ISIS at the vicinity of the military airport of Kuweiras.
Moreover, the Syria warplane targeted positions of “Jaish Fateh” in Jisr al Shoghur, Ariha and Maarat al-Noaman.
While in Daraa, clashes erupted between the Syrian Army and opposition fighters at Menshyyeh quarter.
