THE LEVANT – She is walking across the square when a man pulls up in his jeep. He is telling her she must dress and behave better. The woman is already wearing a full-on niqab. In the same city, another woman walks her kid to school armed with an AK-47. This is life in Raqqa.

A Syrian woman agreed to carry a hidden camera to film how life is like inside Syria’s northern city of Raqqa, which has been under the control of the Islamic State (IS) since last March. The clip shows French women, sitting at an Internet cafe, who decided to move indefinitely to Syria while abandoning their former lives in France over a Skype call.
