The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has worked on development projects in Comoros as part of its relief programmes during the Year of Tolerance. Projects included health and education sector infrastructure support, as per the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed received a telephone call from Mubarak Al Mansouri, head of the ERC delegation in the Comoros, where he was updated on the progress of development projects launched by the aid authority to improve living conditions for vulnerable persons.
The projects included the refurbishment of the Fomboni Hospital in Mwali and updating the University of the Comoros’ e-Library systems, Al Mansouri explained.
He added that an ERC delegation also inspected a dialysis centre in Moroni, taking note of requirements needed to upgrade medical equipment and services. Al Mansouri said that this is the only dialysis centre in the capital that provides medical treatment for patients with kidney disorders and that the ERC will provide support as part of its ‘Ataya’ campaign.
