BREAKING NEWS – Israel opens new front by targeting South Lebanon

THE LEVANT – The Israeli Defense Forces fired multiple artillery shells in the vicinity of southern Lebanon tonight, after Israeli officials stated two rockets were fired into northern Israel from the Lebanese border. The two rockets were believed to have been fired at the city of Kiryat Shimona.

According to the Spokesman for the IDF, “At least one rocket fired from Lebanon hit upper Galilee.” The Spokesman did confirm that Israel responded with artillery shells, but they are not positive who was behind the rocket fire. The artillery landed in the Lebanese village of Jamraq, near the Litani River.

No reported casualties thus far; however, artillery shells continue to pound Lebanon’s southern border with Israel. Residents in Upper Galilee have been advised to stay close to secure zones and follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.
