H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, underlined the need to harness science and technology in the field of beauty and health while inaugurating the maiden edition of “Azyan” exhibition and conference at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, in Sharjah yesterday.
It was also necessary to ensure that responsible behaviour and sustainable practices were followed to safeguard the health of women, she said. The beauty, fashion and wellness event will run till 21st April, 2019.
“We aspire for women in the UAE society to be an example in all aspects of life, being role models for children at home, for their colleagues at the workplace, and for the younger generation of girls. In Sharjah we endeavour to create awareness among women because their behaviour and attitudes influence not only their family but society as a whole,” Sheikha Jawaher said.
She urged the new generation of fashion designers, health and beauty experts to explore opportunities to develop these sectors, ethically and sustainably.
“Emirati women have embraced other cultures without losing their identity. They have taken the best of what has been passed down to them by their culture and adopted new concepts, creating harmony between physical appearance and spiritual essence as the foundation for beauty and elegance,” she added.
