The 5th Arab Gulf Teachers Forum, which was organised by the Ministry of Education under the slogan, “Positive Learning, A Life Approach,” began today in Abu Dhabi, continuing until 11th April, 2019.
The opening of the forum was held in the Emirati School in Abu Dhabi and was attended by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Eng. Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, and officials from the Ministry of Education.
The forum, which is being attended by academic professionals from Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, countries, is being held under the umbrella of “Specialised Training Week” that was organised by the ministry, with the participation of some 26,000 teachers and academic professionals.
The five-day forum is made up of 500 workshops conducted by 82 instructors from the Emirati School in Abu Dhabi and the Teacher Training Institute in Ajman.
“The Ministry of Education aims to empower teachers and help them keep pace with the latest educational developments,” Al Hammadi said, while noting that the ministry held the forum to showcase the latest educational developments and innovative teaching methods, with the aim of creating a proactive educational environment.
He also pointed out that education is being supported by the wise leadership, enabling it to keep pace with the country’s future requirements based on knowledge and innovation. Therefore, the ministry is always enhancing the skills of its employees and implementing ambitious plans, which will enable it to create a knowledge-based economy.
Khawlah Al Hosny, Director of the Training and Professional Development Administration at the Ministry, said that the ministry’s training target for its teachers is to complete 25 training hours from 7th to 11th April, through courses conducted by 1,375 instructors in 204 training centres.
She also highlighted the technical readiness of the training centres, while noting that training will take place in the Teachers Training Institute and the training centres of the Training and Professional Development Administration in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and the Eastern Region. Currently, 600 instructors are accredited by the Accredited Instructor Programme.
