The Levant News Exclusive -Edited and translated by Diana Kasem- Higher Institute Of Dramatic Arts in Syria, celebrates the opening of the 2015-2016 academic year, accompanied with several artistic events.
The theater-in-the-round will present the open invitation reading show Faces And Tales.
The show is written and directed by Dr. Meisoun Ali, and preformed by Dramatic Studies department students; Al-Mahdi Shbat, Majdi Al-Moukbel , Lilas Al Arbid, Manar Nakshbandi, Jihan Al-Mamlouk and Zain Saleh, on Tuesday 13 October at 5 p.m.
And at 6 p.m, Studio No 4,The Window performance, will be shown. The Window, written by Ireneusz Iredyński, is directed by Majd Fedda, dramaturged by Waseem Al-Sharqy and performed by Jafra Younes and Mazen Al-Jebbeh.
It is worth mentioning that the Institute was founded in Damascus, Syria in 1977. The institute heralded a new phase in the development of Syrian theatre and drama which begun with the preparation of the next generation of actors on an academic basis. The Institute has succeeded in rapidly making its mark on the theatre and dramatic arts scene with world class performances being presented in Egypt, Jordan,Lebanon, Kuwait, Germany and many others.
